CONFERENCE PRODUCER (FULL-TIME)
We are looking for an experienced conference producer who can independently produce B2B conferences.  Main responsibilities are the content development, speaker recruitment and commercial management of each conference under the supervision of the Managing Director

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Research and development of world class conference programs
  • On-site conference management
  • Administration management for each conference including speaker communication, speaker liaison, list (data) management etc.
  • Creation of marketing material (website copy, blogs, promotional mailers) for each event
  • Active recruitment of sponsors and delegate dales
  • Creation of new conference topics & formats

 

Requirements:

 

  • International business acumen and commercial awareness
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
  • Strong personality with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong research skills (desk research, phone based interviewing, face to face)
  • Affinity with the Market Research or Chemical industry is a plus
  • Prior experience in the conference industry is a plus

DIGITAL MARKETING MANAGER (FULL-TIME/PART-TIME)
We are looking for a highly motivated Digital Marketing Manager for our global conferences in APAC Europe and North America. As Digital Marketing Manager, you help creating awareness through developing content and expanding our distribution network across social channels, media partners and other relevant channels.

You will work closely with the conference producers and senior management to position our events and expand our global reach. In addition, you manage the media portfolio for Merlien, collecting press clippings, testimonials etc for future use.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Translating marketing brief into actionable marketing plan
  • Generating content for digital assets including blogs, websites, social media channels
  • Creative content generation with internal (producers) and external stakeholders (brand ambassadors, speakers, sponsors etc)
  • Composing exciting email marketing campaigns using marketing automation platforms
  • Extending content to third parties such as media partners, associations etc
  • Creative use of third party content

Goals:

  • Increase the global reach of our brands
  • Drive visitors to our event websites and portals
  • Maximise visibility of our content across all channels
  • Develop new partnerships with industry bodies, associations and media
  • Generate new leads through the increase of our subscriber base (newsletter/website)

Requirements:

  • Content focused with excellent English copywriting skills
  • Creating “Pull’ effect rather than push marketing strategies
  • Have experience with CMS and social media publishing
  • Pro-active, creative and result-oriented mindset
  • A strong communicator who likes to make things happen and build new relationships
  • Well organized with attention to detail
  • Excellent in written and spoken English
  • Affinity with market research and technology is a plus

DELEGATE SALES EXECUTIVE (FULL-TIME/PART-TIME)

As a Delegate Sales Executive, your main target is to acquire delegates through selling of conference tickets. Your tasks include prospecting, contacting and meeting potential clients to closing sales and maintaining customer relationships. In brief, we bring clients, agencies and tech companies together at the events.

With your consultative sales style, you will help the agencies and solution providers reach their target groups and the right investors through our service concept. Your work is supported by marketing and presales functions providing prospects and leads.

We seek for:

  • Minimum 2 years previous B2B delegate conference sales experience
  • Motivation and ability for creating new business and starting to build the sales pipeline in our global markets from scratch!
  • Genuine passion for sales and drive to be a top scorer
  • Consultative approach to sales, with curiosity and ability to listen
  • Great communication skills with ability to make argumentation and convince others
  • Knowledge of the market research industry is preferred
  • Excellent English is required for this position. Additional languages an advantage
  • Team player with positive impact to the working atmosphere

    Jens Cornelissen has been writing for over two decades – initially for general newspapers in his home country Germany. After receiving an MA degree in Communications, he joined a new media start-up in Amsterdam as consultant on new media technologies and country editor for two daily newsletters. In his current day job, Jens runs the global conference division for Merlien’s dedicated marketing research events. Jens is a trained journalist with a BA in Journalism from Westminster University in London and has authored several media industry reports and articles on mobile and media technology.
